BU TweetCreep: February 20th-25th

It’s time for the second serving of #BU TweetCreep and @BUDiningService seems to be the frontrunner for tweirdest Twitter feed on campus. I challenge the rest of #BU departments and student groups to step up their 140 character game for the sake of our own entertainment. Suggestion: try to force pop culture references with no relevance to your department/group into your tweets (see @BUDiningService’s second Jersey Shore bit this week)…

Banana (Pancakes) in Pajamas

WHY?! Were they watching The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this time when they were inspired to tweet this? I’d say they have egg on their face for this one, but they’d probably countertweet by saying it’s from the pancake batter.

Can Rhett Prevent Us From Tweet Boredom?

@saoBU sure has an awesome way of INSERTING ITS OWN SLOGAN INTO ITS TWEETS. #blunt #blunt

They could learn from @buunion, which took a more subtle approach to self-promotion by having its main account ask leading questions of its own VP of Internal Affairs.

It’s almost like they planned that, right?!

Dropping Tweets Like the Laws of Physics

[blackbirdpie url=”http://twitter.com/buphysics/status/40497643553697792″]

I couldn’t resist pointing out the use of the word “drop” by the @buphysics department. Perhaps this is the first baby step towards cheesy attempts at humor on par with @BUDiningService? I certainly hope so, because honestly, what else are they going to talk about in 140 characters? OOH, OOH TWEET ABOUT KINETIC ENERGY!!!

Twinternational Recognition

This Just In: I’m now a universal phenomenon since I was once followed by a Twitter account that claimed to be an alien from a made-up planet. #truestory

Greek Weak

Not sure I follow, but it’s okay, because Delta Delta Delta steps in with a bold supporting argument:

This tweet made me more uncomfortable for them than an average @BUDiningService one. How many “walks of shame” have you and your friends taken together? I’ll just let that one sink in for a moment.

Another Serving of Jersey Shore

[blackbirdpie url=”http://twitter.com/BUDiningService/status/40992895234215936″]

And the Jersey Shore drinking game is in full effect with @BUDiningService this week. Their obsession with Sammi and Ronnie is making me think there’s going to be a Chicken Cutlet Night in the dining hall soon.

Fortunately, it looks like they’re branching out from Jersey shore to all things stereotypically Italian.

Some of These Things Are Not Like the Others

I feel like if you put “lack of” in front of “sex” and changed “hippie” to “nerd,” this tweet would make a whole lot more sense to more people.
