Allison Francis’ New Plans

Allison Francis is one of the leading female acoustic musicians at Boston University. When a local show needs a solo acoustic act to add to a lineup, the booker turns to Francis. Since her high school years, the musician has been composing and performing her own story-telling songs that convey raw emotion in a vulnerable light.

Francis has recently decided to veer away from her previous musical work with BU’s Base Trip Records and instead work independently, meaning she will be doing the management side of her music (promotion, planning, booking, presentation) all on her own. She explains:

I don’t have specific plans other than to make plans with friends who would be willing to help me record with their equipment because I just really want to get the EP and album out as soon (but still as best) as possible. I can’t really estimate dates for those, but I would hope they happen in 2010. I also will be continuing to travel to Montreal and play on the sidewalks up there.

The first of the two videos showcases Allison Francis’ feelings about life and music. The second video is Allison playing her new song, “Troubled Little Mind.”
